Treasures of the Earth, Edinburgh

Join us for a special online international edition of the Guid Crack Club!

The Guid Crack Club is Edinburgh’s longest running storytelling club, usually held in the Waverley Bar on the last Friday of each month. Though we can’t gather together in person, we can still have an international ceilidh, open to all!

If you’d like to join us, please click on the given link from 7pm. The event is limited to 100 people so please arrive early to ensure a spot. The stories will begin at 7.30pm and end at 10pm.

The event will be hosted by Daniel Allison and will take the form of a ceilidh session, with a few contributions from the host and the rest from attendees.

If you would like to share a story, song or poem, please send Daniel a message once you have arrived, with the name of your offering, whether it is a story, song, poem or something else, and the approximate length. Please keep your offering under 10mins so there is room for everyone who would like to contribute.

Our theme is Treasures of the Earth. What hidden jewels can we find amid the present turmoil? Bring a diamond of a story, song or poem which will dispel the darkness and bring us joy and wonder.

The event will take the form of a Zoom meeting. If you haven’t used Zoom before, it might be worth downloading the application in advance, watching a demo video or two and giving it a trial run, in order to avoid having technical issues on the night. The application is free to download and run.

We ask for attendees to make a £5 donation towards the Scottish Storytelling Centre’s work. A PayPal address will be provided, which you can use to contribute on the night or in advance.
