Daniel Allison is a Scottish oral storyteller who learnt his craft from Scottish elders. After years of apprenticeship and telling the tales across Scotland, he wrote the USA Today bestseller Scottish Myths & Legends, followed by Scottish Myths & Legends Volume II, Irish Mythology: The Children of Danu and Irish Mythology: Fionn & the Fianna.

Daniel has performed throughout the world, from Irish villages to Hebridean hilltops, Arabian markets, Indian theatres and global festivals.

The Orkney Cycle is Daniel’s historical fantasy series. Inspired by the tales he tells orally, it fuses fast-paced fantasy with selkies, kelpies, warring pagan tribes and dark magic in Ancient Orkney, all grounded in authentic Scottish folklore. It has been optioned for film and television.
